De Walden Press was
established in 1996 to publish the first of Kellett's books, "The Malvern Story",
and since then has published a further eleven titles. Six
of these books to date
have received Distinguished Book Awards, in 1996, 1999, 2000,
2003, 2005 and 2007 from the Miniature Book Society, Inc. These are awarded annually to books
chosen from a worldwide field of entrants to the Miniature Book Society
Competition, and judged by experts from the book world.
|
|
Each is a
limited edition. No more than the specified number is produced,
making these truly rare books. The smallest edition to date is that of
"Sea Change", a miniature parchment scroll produced in an edition of
only twenty-five. Most editions are of less than fifty copies. Future editions
will be no more than thirty.

All De Walden Press
publications are miniatures.
In the book world a miniature is usually a book that is no larger than three inches
in any dimension. Kellett has chosen this difficult format
because she enjoys the challenge of scaling down thoughts, text, images, and
materials to create a readable, workable small scale book that is a pleasure to
handle and to enjoy.
|
|
Each book is hand made using
archival quality materials, and binding methods. Kellett trained originally as a bookbinder, and uses
her experience and skills to ensure that everything she makes reaches a high
standard of construction.
